When I was pregnant with my son, I had the pleasure of being pregnant alongside a dear friend. Our due dates were only days apart. She invited me to a prenatal yoga class.⁣

We attended a weekly class in her neighborhood, where I learned to connect with my breath, my baby and myself. It was a wonderful experience that only scratched the surface of what was to come.⁣

After birth, I experienced postpartum depression. I didn’t want to leave the house. I was hard on myself about the struggle to breastfeed as well as the weight I had gained. Sound familiar? This story is not unique. I felt alone, even though I wasn’t. I had my husband, friends, and family around lending their support but it didn’t seem to penetrate me. I was sad anyway.⁣

Fast Forward 5 months later, another dear friend decided FOR ME, enough was enough! With some encouragement, she decided WE would join a gym together! They had childcare so I could take some time for myself. They also happen to have a reputable yoga program with great teachers. I found myself back in the studio connecting with my breath and my body. Practicing yoga brought me back to the center I had lost sight of. I was able to put the recent events and depression into perspective. It was challenging and motivating and exactly what I needed to transform emotionally and physically.⁣ I have forever created a relationship with my practice. It’s who I am and the secret ingredient to my evolution, success as a mother and entrepreneur. ⁣
